Acne at every age and it’s effects

Acne problem of the skin is a long-term disease which occurs when the pores of the skin become clogged by the dead skin cells and oils. Acnes are known as blackheads, whiteheads, greasy skins, scarring skin and pimples by the common people. This acne can be inflammatory and non-inflammatory look like red pimples, generally. This disease occurs on the skin of the teenagers mostly, but there are many adults who are experienced by it severely.

Actually, Acne is now known as a painful skin disease affecting people of every ages, sexes, and race in both way- physically and mentally. Everybody affected by acne, cannot take the approaches of the treatments in the same way as treatments do not fit people of every age

Though teenagers were affected mostly by acne, adults are now severely affected by this disease.

Acne at pre-teen age

Now a day, acne has been spread a lot. Many reports show that around 8 pre-teen people out of 10 pre-teens are affected by different forms if acne. As the hormonal conditions begin to change at this age, acne becomes common for them. It is because they have many overactive oil glands for their body transformation and hormonal changes. They may not have large pustules or pimples, but moderate-sized mild bumps are found on the nose and forehead. Blackheads are also seen on their skin. Clogged pores can increase with the increase in oil.

To prevent acne, pre-teens should not use makeup with their hands. In fact, they should not touch their face with their hands. They should use good products as the cleanser.

Acne at teenage

At the time of school, college, after school programs, sports and jobs, almost all teenagers experience a lot of acne problem. Though the hormonal changes start to complete its changing phase and start to settle in a level, the body of a teenager pay for the after effects. According to the reports, almost 100% of teenagers face the acne problem. A breakout of acne occurs at different places of their face, chest, neck, back and also their rear end. Sweating areas trigger the acne and further bacterial infection. So, teenagers should be very cautious and try to protect their skin from acne.

Teenagers should use the non-come do genic products. They should wash their face and body twice a day and try to not touch their face frequently. They should carry cleansing wipes always to clean their face.

Acne at adult age

Many people think that they may be free from the acne problem after crossing the teenage. But actually, the hormonal changes occur when people use the birth control pills and at the time of the pregnancy. So, people at adult age especially, female can experience acne disease and so, they may need to use acne treating products. But after menopause, women should not use this type of products because their skin changes the pattern. At this age, skin becomes thin and sensitive. In this age, people can use only the products geared towards adults.

At the adult age, people should keep their skin moisturized always. They should not let their skin exfoliate and should keep their skin protected.

The psychological effect of acne

Within the physical discomfort caused for the acne problem, people experience the mental discomfort and depression too, even after the disappearance of the acne. They face a long-term effect for the scarring damage.

The anxiety and the depression caused for the acne problem especially, between the age of 12 and 25, can be the reason for the low self-confidence, low self-esteem, low self-assertiveness, social inhibition, embarrassment, affectation, obsessive-compulsiveness, altered body image, shame, and even suicidal ideation. These effects can affect the quality of the life of the patients and that in turn, the clinical severity of the acne problem of the patient. Doctors should consider this issue too.

Dermatologists assess their mental condition while treating acne patients. Several depression signs can show the level of the depression level of patients. These signs can be the loss of the appetite of the patient, mood disturbance, lethargy, wakefulness, behavioral problems, feelings of unworthiness and maybe crying spontaneously.

Many people especially, teenagers are affected psychologically in many ways. Many children refuse to attend their school and their academic performance become poor. They perform poorly in their job applications too. Many people face the unacceptance of acne spots in the workplace. So, many of them remain unemployed. People cannot cope up with these acne problems easily.

The acne problems should not be left for natural healing. It should be treated instantly. People should take it seriously and should take the advice of a dermatologist as soon as possible. People should be careful enough to stop the spreading out of the acne problems.
